Bloody and Sad Sunday as Several massacred in Ozubulu, Nnewi Town, Anambra State

In the early hours during the first Sunday Service, 6 August, unidentified gunmen stomped St. Phillip’s catholic church in Ozubulu town in Anambra state and opened fire on worshipers, several killed while many injured.

It was reported that St Philip’s is widely known to be an architectural masterpiece, a luxurious place of worship, consecrated about two years ago by the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Town,  Rev Dr Odili Okeke.

The building was solely financed by the town’s famous philanthropist, High Chief Nnamdi Ikegwounwu (Ebubechukwuuzo Ozubulu).





The Ozubulu Teaching hospital in Nnewi is at the moment full with casualties and many are still dying.
