Bloody and Sad Sunday as Several massacred in Ozubulu, Nnewi Town, Anambra State

In the early hours during the first Sunday Service, 6 August, unidentified gunmen stomped St. Phillip’s catholic church in Ozubulu town in Anambra state and opened fire on worshipers, several killed while many injured. It was reported that St Philip’s is widely known to be an architectural masterpiece, a luxurious place of worship, consecrated about two years ago by the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Town,  Rev Dr Odili Okeke. See more photo... The building was solely financed by the town’s famous philanthropist, High Chief Nnamdi Ikegwounwu (Ebubechukwuuzo Ozubulu). The Ozubulu Teaching hospital in Nnewi is at the moment full with casualties and many are still dying.

A group of four-man Notorious Armed Kidnap syndicates who has been terrorizing Aba and its environs has met their end by the braved Detectives attached to Omoba Division on 19th July, 2017, at Ovungwu, Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area Abia State. The kidnappers had on 18th July, 2017, in Osisioma Ngwa abducted one Onyemaechi Mbamaonyeukwu Ijeoma, the Managing Director of Mba Hotels Aba in his Nissan Infinity Jeep with Reg. On Tuesday, the Lagos State Government denied involvement with an infrastructural firm, Master Realty International Concept Ltd, allegedly reported to be parading itself as having approval to construct an ICT specialized mall directly beside the newly built Ikeja Bus Terminal. The State's Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Wasiu Anifowoshe in a statement said the State Government has not given Planning Permit for such development. Well, a sales girl with Shoprite stores, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mariam Mufutau has been arrested and arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing the sum of N553,956,000 she realized from sales just in one month after she was employed. The management of Shoprite Stores had reported a case of theft to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ilasan Division, Lekki, Eti-Osa, SP Oyinye Onwuamaegbu and that they suspected their sales girl to have stolen their N535,956,000 she realized from sales just one month after she was employed. Following the report, Onwuamaegbu ordered Inspector Orukotan Lonikola to arrest the accused. During investigation, the accused could not give account of the missing money. EFCC is currently investigating about 20 Senators over N367.5bn 'fraud'

Following the information received, about 20 Senators are under the investigation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged N367.5 billion fraud.  while a document revealed that about 11 of the senators are from the North while the others are from the South. The Nation states that, about 7 of the affected lawmakers are on trial - some of the cases are said to be as old as 10 years. A Senator is said to be on the list for alleged stamp duty infractions. The report claimed that about 2 senators, who are outside the list, are being investigated for their alleged involvement in the N19 billion and $86 million London-Paris Club refund in which seven governors have been implicated as well. According to the newspaper report, most of the N367.5 billion alleged fraud border on money laundering, misappropriation, executed contracts, diversion of public funds to campaigns, and others. A report got to us that a teenage boy was on Monday arrested by the Police in East Legon for leading a robbery attack on a white businessman at the East Legon in Ghana. Adom News reported that, the 17-year-old whose name was identified as Sanusi Zibu and his accomplice Abdul Muhammad, 27, under the pretext of alerting the victim to check his flat tyre in a gridlock traffic which will enable them to gained access to the white businessman. When the white man stopped, the suspects reportedly pulled a gun on him and took away his bag which contained GHC 58,000 and $20,000. However, they where unlucky as they were escaping from the scene when a motorbike rider chased them, crossed their paths and eventually knocked them down on the road which subsequently led to their arrest by the police.

Four Companies sealed over debt of N630M of Non-Compliance of Tax -FIRS

Four different agencies in both Lagos and Port Harcourt have been sealed by the FIRS over tax debts amount to N630million. The press statement issued by the tax agency on Monday, July 17, 2017 indicate that the default companies include Charcoal and Spices Restaurant Limited, GRA, Port Harcourt, and Cioscon Nigerian Limited at 14 Aba Road, Port Harcourt. "The FIRS enforcement team lead, Anita Erinne, sealed both companies after showing a warrant of distraint to officials of the company. "Charcoal and Spices Restaurant Limited owes N12,388,979.50 tax debt while Cioscon Nigerian Ltd has a tax liability amounting to N479,203,464.43 from 2014 to 2016 which the firms have dubiously failed to make remittance to the Tax agency. The statement further revealed that in Lagos, the enforcement team of the FIRS sealed Joza Global Service situated at 18, Ribadu Road, Ikoyi, Lagos over a tax debt of over N30.6 million.
